Menorca or also known as Minorca is one of the islands in the Balearic Archipelago. It is a part of Spain and has a population of less than a hundred thousand inhabitants. The island is famously known for the stone monuments here that are believed to be built by the prehistoric humans and these monuments vary in size. Some of them are small but most of them are built really big and how it is built by humans who do not have adequate tools is still a mystery until this day.

The main airport of this island will be the Minorca airport and there are only domestic flights in here as well as other flight exclusive for those in the United Kingdom. Winter Blues and Frozen Pipe

Frozen Pipe

Why is it every winter, lot’s of people get a winter blues. I think it’s because of the cold weather. Well, today the weather is good. It’s cold but it’s bright. Mr. Sun greeted us hello this morning. Last year, our winter was colder than freezing. We experienced frozen pipe in our bathroom every time the temperature dropped to one digit. We had to open the back part of the bathroom tub where the water coming from and you can see the hose and maybe one of it is the hydraulic hose and place the space heater near it to unfroze the pipe. It’s hard because we did not have running water both in the bathroom and kitchen sink. I think the problem with that house was, it did not have insulation as well as space heater. We had to buy 4 portable space heater to keep up warm during the winter. Meanwhile, this house we are living today is great. The space heater is working well and it’s warm inside too. We still feel winter blues because less going outside but not as bad as before.

Missing My Nanay

This is my grandmother in my maternal side. The last time I saw her was I think eight years ago. They stayed in my apartment with my mom as they visited one of her daughter in Bohol. That was also the last time I saw my late grandfather who passed away when I moved here in the US in 2007. Housing for seniors may be the safest place for people her age here in the US but back in my home country it doesn’t work that way. Right now my Nanay, that’s what we call her is staying in her house with couple of her grand children whom also watches and caring after her. She is now senile and very old. Sometimes she acted like a kid too. I wish I get to see her before she won’t recognized me. The problem is I am million miles away from her and it’s impossible to buy ticket right away and come home. However, I really do pray that she will wait for me and my children because she wants to see my kids too. I miss my family, grandmother, relatives and friends so much.
